Sometimes I like to copy a masterwork. It’s interesting to try out compositions and color palettes that I would never use on my own. In this case I had a large junk canvas (originally an IKEA picture) that I wanted to repurpose. Van Gogh represents a challenge because his style is very loose and free. I found it impossible to copy exactly without similar loose brush strokes, so I gave way to the temptation and allowed a lot of my style to creep in.  The result, a “VanGo-Nadó” original, which is how I signed it.
