An assignment for a course at the Leonardo Academy was to depict a dream. I thought of Mellie because I am convinced that she dreams. And it is plausible that she has flight dreams. She has such short legs and always wants a higher perspective. Since I like to play with her name, I came up with "Mellicopter", it sounds like "Helicopter". So I got the idea to paint Mellie in flight. I had a photo of her sleeping, perhaps dreaming. Then I found the other elements of the picture on the internet.
