Early Easter morning 2021 we set out for a special walk. We took a bus to north end of the Mönschberg and made our way up. I have always loved this mountain city park: you are downtown, but yet in the woods. It is quiet and there are lots of places offering panoramic views. The church at Mülln is on the north end of the mountain. The Festung is on the south end. We stopped to admire the view of the city from the terrace of the Museum of Modern Art and we saw a young woman, sitting on the wall, with the same idea. She had no problem with being photographed there. I was delighted: I’ve painted a number of scenes where I have placed figures in such situations and here she was already, right where I wanted her! It made the day that much more memorable.
