Lake Neusiedl is a large, shallow body of water in Burgenland, the easternmost province of Austria. I visited the area with a group last year and was able to take this photo from the ferry on the way from our hotel to the Sankt Margarethen open-air theater, where we saw West Side Story. We were very lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy an excellent performance in comfort. The area around the lake is sparsely populated and I wondered how they managed to sell out their performances night after night. Chatting with the couple next to me, I discovered it is not far from Vienna.
