We used to live across the river from the Glanspitz park, a park at the point where the small river Glan joins the Salzach. I took lots of pictures there and decided this view was my favorite. This small painting is part of a 4-seasons grouping that hangs in my living room. I like the colors and the feeling of shade on a hot day, but I wasn’t completely pleased with the painting. It seemed too conventional. So I decided to try it again. It’s seldom a good idea to paint the same scene twice because the second painting is usually a disappointment. But in this case, I hoped the second attempt would be an improvement.
